A Florida medical examiner has released new findings that show that a woman who was diagnosed with breast cancer died because of a botched breast self examination.
The office of the Florida Medical Examiner’s office said Tuesday that it had received the findings of an investigation into the death of the woman, who was found dead in her home last month.
She had been examined by a nurse and doctor.
The medical examiner’s office did not say how many women had been evaluated for breast cancer and how many died.
It said it had opened an investigation to determine if any violations occurred during the examination.
An autopsy revealed that the woman died of natural causes.
Her death was ruled a homicide.
The woman’s name has not been released.
