With the start of the 2017-18 season, the Football League has set a new standard for the international competition with the creation of a new competition called the The Soccer Italia.
The new competition will be held in 2018-19 and the first games will take place on Saturday January 6.
The competition will feature five teams each from the six European leagues: the Serie A, the Champions League, the Europa League, La Liga and the Premier League.
The first match of the competition will take the place of the final of the UEFA Champions League last season and will be played on Sunday January 5 in Brescia.
The competition has already attracted a record attendance of almost 2.3 million and has drawn an impressive crowd of over 50,000.
The number of matches in the competition has also been steadily growing with the total number of games to date reaching 842.
